This weekend The Hubbie and I ventured across to the Docklands area of Melbourne. We had an ice hockey game lined up for the evening (part of The Hubbie’s birthday present) which was closeby so we decided to make the most of being in the area (which actually ended up with us in the kiddies’ games arcade all afternoon… but enough of that)!
We had a stroll down the waterfront and checked out the menus of a few restaurants before settling on Cargo; a light and airy restaurant with seating right next to the water.
The menu had loads of tempting dishes to choose from including wood-fired pizzas, fresh pasta and Spanish-inspired tapas – it took quite a while to make a final decision! In the end I went for this delicious pappardelle pasta with pumpkin, walnuts and spinach, finished with a healthy dollop of ricotta cheese – YUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMM.
Meanwhile The Hubbie went for spicy wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce…
…with a side of beef tacos!
For dessert, we both went for the Violet Crumble – possibly the prettiest pudding I’ve ever seen! Chocolate cream, honeycomb, caramel ice cream and chocolate pearls, scattered with edible violets. And it tasted as good as it looked.
The price of the meal was really reasonable considering the gorgeous waterfront location. Cargo: I think we’ll be seeing you again! Xx
